Community Service

Year 12 and 13 girls are encouraged to get involved in their local community or in the school by contributing their time, energy and skills to benefit others. The girls get involved in many areas within the school including:
• Mentoring or tutoring younger girls in either Senior School or Junior School. This could be in a subject that they are taking at A Level/IB or just one that they are good at and enjoyed.
• Helping to run school activities during lunchtimes or after school.

Others like to volunteer outside school.

Placements vary from year to year depending on the girls’ interests. Some of the placements are:
• Residential homes
• Pocklington House for the Elderly Blind
• RNIB Sunshine House
• Mount Vernon Hospital
• Charity shops

In addition, at Christmas we organise a Carol Concert at the Erskine Residential Home.
