Charities
At St. Helen’s we are committed to working within the community both locally and further afield, and we encourage girls to get involved with charities. Fund raising events take place throughout the year, often suggested and organised by pupils.
We also have established links with charities, including:
PHAB
PHAB is a national charity dedicated to promoting and encouraging people with and without physical disabilities to come together on equal terms. A team of girls from the Sixth Form at St. Helen’s join together with a team of boys from Merchant Taylors’ School to organise a week’s holiday for a group of physically handicapped teenagers during the Easter holidays. This also involves a number of fund-raising activities during the year to help raise money for the week.
RNIB Sunshine House School
We have forged close links with pupils at the RNIB Sunshine House School in Northwood for whom girls in Years 10 and 11 plan a Christmas Party and an Easter Egg Hunt. Our students also have the opportunity to act as volunteers at Sunshine House throughout the year.
