British Asian Sports Awards Winner

Congratulations to Nischele Patel in Year 10 who has won the Junior Sports Personality of the Year 2007 award at the British Asian Sports Awards (BASA) held last weekend at the London Hilton Hotel.

Nischele is a 2nd Dan Black Belt National Fighter in WTF Taekwondo and is currently seeded number 3 in the -42kg in the 14-17 age group. She achieved 1st Dan at the age of 11 and 2nd at the age of 13 and has been competing nationally since the age of 9 but practising Taekwondo since the age of 5. She became British National Champion, seeded number 1, for 2006/2007 in the Cadet - 37kg category in November 2006.

Nischele intends to continue her training and competing nationally and now looks forward to competing internationally.
