Fingerprint Forensics

On Thursday 4th March, we were delighted to welcome Bruce Grant, Head of Counter Terrorist Forensic Investigation for the Metropolitan Police, to St. Helen's to talk to students and staff about counter terrorist forensic science and, in particular, the power of fingerprints.

He gave a fascinating talk to a packed audience about the way in which the police are able to use fingerprinting and DNA in their counter terrorist intelligence work, using case studies from the past and the present to demonstrate the effectiveness of fingerprint identification. He also had some very useful advice for those girls in the audience considering a career in forensic science.
