Year 1 visit to the Environment and Education Centre

On Wednesday 30th June, Year 1 enjoyed an exciting trip to Clay Lane Environmental Centre as part of their Water topic.

They were surprised to find out how much water they actually use and were interested to learn about how to save water. All the girls tried 'pond dipping' and enjoyed finding out about the creatures they had collected and that are found in the pond. The afternoon was spent learning about the water cycle and the girls took part in a drama activity to illustrate the cycle. In class this week the girls have finished their mermaids and dioramas. These look superb and will be on display in the classrooms on coffee morning. In Mathematics, the girls have been looking at counting in patterns and identifying odd and even numbers.
