Lost in Time!
On Wednesday 20th June, Year 6 spent the day in Senior School learning about the skill of chronology. Junior School and Senior School joined together to investigate how time works.
The day began with 21 girls showing us how centuries work, by forming a giant human timeline, which we kept adding to over the course of the morning. Girls consolidated their basic skills, learning about AD and BC, and spent some time dressing up as Cavaliers, Victorians and Vikings, and seeing how historical periods fit on a big timeline.
Year 6 learned lots of interesting information, including how periods overlapped, using their swimming caps! Lots of different historical artefacts were used and by the end of the morning, all of Year 6 were able to place items accurately on the timeline. The girls are now able to use their new knowledge to compete for History prizes by creating their own timelines.
