Examples of some of the After School Hobbies on offer include:
ICT
The girls learn to use beebots and the tracking bus to improve their directional skills. A highlight for the girls is learning how to use a Digiblue Movie Maker, when they have the opportunity to produce their own short video clips and to learn how to include special effects. They also learn how to take photos using digital cameras and to upload them on to the computer.
Creative
The girls design and make a variety of useful things such as designing, weaving and decorating a table mat and making a bookmark.
Science
The aim of this club is to get the girls excited about Science. The girls conduct a variety of experiments every week, such as the use of a variety of materials to make boats. The girls find out which materials float and whether the shape of a boat affects this. They also experiment with paper to make a paper windmill.
Sewing
The girls embark on a different project each term. They practise their threading and cutting skills using simple stitches as independently as possible. Everything that is made goes home with pride.
Sound and Rhythm
The girls learn to use a variety of percussion instruments and how to dance in time to different beats.
Model Making
In Model Making the girls are exposed to and encouraged to use a variety of media to build their own models. They work collaboratively to produce some very creative designs.
