European Day

How well can you identify and place all the countries and capitals in Europe? Year 5 are certainly experts! On our European Day the girls had the opportunity to read each other’s Half Term projects on two contrasting countries and answer a fun question sheet; Kristen Smithers in 5M scored the highest. Later we took the computer challenge with every girl participating on a timed test on a brilliant Europe website. Ashni Shah is Year 5 top country spotter on Level 4 with an amazing 96% accuracy. The top seven from each class then went head to head in an exciting final, finding all 46 capitals using a hand held answering device called Quizdom. 5B came out on top with many resounding 100% scores. Well done!

Emily-Anne Byrne (Year 6) entertained us with some Irish dancing before we had our countries catwalk. The girls paraded with their costumes; Kiera (Scottish), Ellie (Latvia), Yass (France), Esana (Norway), Jina (Spain), and Lehana (Turkey) were declared as the most ingenius.

The day was rounded off with a delicious feast of a huge variety of dishes and foods from across the continent.  Thank you parents for your support making this such a great day, demonstrating just how much the girls have learned this term.

Our next Open Morning is on Wednesday 24th June 2009.  Please click here for more details and to book a place.
