Admissions
St. Helen’s provides an excellent, well-balanced, academic education and our admissions procedures are designed to select pupils who will thrive and flourish in this learning environment.
Most girls enter the School at one of our main entry ages, and admissions are as below. Occasional places in other age groups may sometimes become available throughout the School.
- Nursery (3+) – selection by group observation. September 2009 entry assessments start early in January 2009 and the closing date for registrations is Friday 7th November 2008.
- Reception (4+) - selection by group observation and individual interview. September 2009 entry assessments start early in January 2009 and the closing date for registrations is Friday 7th November 2008.
- Year 3 (7+) – selection by examination and interview. Examination is in English, Maths and Non-Verbal Reasoning. For September 2009, the written papers will be held on Tuesday 6th January 2009. The closing date for registrations is Friday 21st November 2008.
- Year 7 (11+) - selection by examination and interview. Examination is in English, Maths and Verbal Reasoning. The entrance examination for September 2009 takes place on Friday 9th January 2009 and the closing date for registrations is Friday 21st November 2008.
- Sixth Form (16+) - selection by examination and interview. Girls require A*, A or B grades in at least 7 GCSE subjects and a total of 42 points is needed in 7 subjects. The Sixth Form Autumn Term entrance examination will take place on Tuesday 4th November 2007. The closing date for registrations for this examination is Wednesday 30th October 2008.
