St Helen’s School is easily accessible by road and by public transport. We have two main entrances, one on Eastbury Road, for all visitors who are visiting us on an individual basis, and one on Green Lane for our Central Car Park, for visitors who are visiting us on an open day and parents dropping off their children.
We also offer a coach service covering a wide area.

Please note, if using a satellite navigation system, that the postcode HA6 3AS should be used for our Eastbury Road entrance and HA6 1AG for our Green Lane entrance.
By public transport - The nearest Underground station is Northwood, on the Metropolitan Line. The journey time is just over 30 minutes from Baker Street and 25 to 40 minutes from Amersham. To reach St Helen’s from Northwood Station, cross to the opposite side of the road junction and walk up Eastbury Road. St Helen’s visitors’ entrance is in approximately 200 metres, on your right.
Many mainline train services on the London Euston line call at Watford Junction, from where a half-hourly Route 8 bus calls at Northwood on its way to Mount Vernon Hospital. You can also catch a taxi to Watford Metropolitan Line Station to connect with Underground services to Northwood.
By road from London – Eastbury Road visitors’ entrance: follow the A40 from Westway, passing under the Hangar Lane gyratory system and the Target (A312) roundabout. Take the next exit (A4180) at the Polish War Memorial. Follow signs to Ruislip and then Northwood, bringing you along Ducks Hill Road. At the T-junction with Rickmansworth Road (A404) turn right at the traffic lights. At the next set of traffic lights, turn left onto Green Lane, passing local shops and then Waitrose and Northwood Underground Station on your right. Turn left at the cross roads by the station onto Eastbury Road. S. Helen’s visitors’ entrance is on your right after approximately 200 metres, just beside a red pillar box.
By road from the M25 – Eastbury Road visitors’ entrance: from the M25, leave by junction 17 (A412) clockwise or junction 18 (A404) anti-clockwise. Follow signs to Rickmansworth. Once you reach Rickmansworth, continue on the A404, following signs to Northwood and London. You will eventually pass Mount Vernon Hospital on your right. Follow the A404 down the hill, passing through a set of traffic lights. At the next set of traffic lights, turn left onto Green Lane, passing local shops and then Waitrose and Northwood Underground Station on your right. Turn left at the cross roads by the station onto Eastbury Road. St Helen’s visitors’ entrance is on your right after approximately 200 metres just beside a red pillar box.
By road from M1 Jct 5 (to the Eastbury Road Visitors’ Entrance) - Follow the A4008 to Watford along the link road, turn left at the roundabout in to Waterfields Way and carry on to Lower High Street towards Bushey. At Bushey Arches, follow the one-way system to take the A4125 towards Northwood. After 2.5 miles, turn left in to Batchworth Lane and at the crossroads turn left in to Eastbury Road. Follow Eastbury Road until you reach Carew Road and the entrance to St Helen’s School is just after Carew Road on the left.
Green Lane entrance: follow directions as above but continue straight on at the crossroads by Northwood Underground Station and follow the road past the parade of shops on your left. The Green Lane entrance is then the second entrance on your left by the Sports Centre. Please note that visitors should only use this entrance for open days and other prospective parents’ events. All individual visitors should use the Eastbury Road entrance where our main Reception is situated.
